Welcome to LitCode. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LitCode ("we," "us," or "our"), a Google Chrome extension designed to assist users with coding interviews.
By accessing or using LitCode and its related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our Service.
1. Overview
LitCode provides an AI-powered tool for generating structured coding interview solutions based on user-submitted screenshots and text prompts. It operates as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering both a free Standard Plan and a paid Premium Plan.
2. User Accounts & Authentication
- Users must sign up using Google Authentication; no other login methods are supported.
- Accounts are personal, non-transferable, and intended for individual use only.
2.1 Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to:
- Share, resell, or transfer your account access.
- Use bots, scripts, or automated methods to interact with LitCode.
- Circumvent subscription limits by creating multiple accounts.
Enforcement: Violations of these restrictions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund. LitCode reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action in response to suspicious activity.
3. Subscription & Payment Policy
3.1 Payment Processing
- All payments are securely processed by Stripe.
- By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method for applicable fees.
3.2 Subscription Model
- Free Plan: 5 credits per month.
- Premium Plan: 100 credits per month.
3.3 Cancellation & Refunds
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; your access will remain active through the end of your billing period.
- No refunds will be issued for partially used billing periods.
- Chargebacks will result in immediate account suspension. We reserve the right to pursue unpaid amounts through collections.
3.4 Price Lock Policy
- Active subscriptions maintain their original pricing, even if future pricing increases.
- Canceling and re-subscribing will require payment at the current pricing.
4. Usage Restrictions & Compliance
You agree NOT to:
- Extract, reproduce, or redistribute AI-generated content for commercial purposes.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of LitCode.
- Use LitCode to violate the terms of third-party platforms or services.
5. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
- LitCode retains ownership of all intellectual property, including AI-generated content.
- Users are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use generated content solely for personal interview preparation.
You may not:
- Resell, distribute, or commercially exploit AI-generated solutions.
- Reverse-engineer or replicate LitCode’s systems, models, or outputs.
6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
6.1 No Guarantees
LitCode does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or effectiveness of any AI-generated solutions.
6.2 Service Provided "As-Is"
The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
6.3 Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, LitCode’s total liability for any claim related to your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to LitCode in the preceding 3 months.
- In no event shall LitCode, its affiliates, or its partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or data loss.
LitCode is not responsible for:
- Coding errors in generated solutions.
- Interview outcomes.
- Service interruptions, disruptions, or data losses.
7. Privacy Policy & Data Security
7.1 What Data We Collect
- Email Address and Name: For authentication and account management.
- Usage Data: To monitor usage patterns and improve services.
- Payment Information: Processed by Stripe; LitCode does not store full payment details.
7.2 How We Use Your Data
- To operate, personalize, and improve the Service.
- To enforce these Terms and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you regarding your account or Service updates.
7.3 Data Storage & Security
- User data is securely stored on AWS servers.
- User-submitted content (screenshots, prompts) is processed locally in your browser and is not stored by LitCode.
7.4 User Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)
- Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data by contacting support.
- California and EU users have specific rights under CCPA and GDPR.
8. Service Availability & Changes
- LitCode may modify, suspend, or discontinue any portion of the Service at any time without liability.
- We may also adjust pricing, features, or plans with prior notice to active subscribers.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
9.1 Mandatory Arbitration Clause
- Any disputes or claims arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
- Arbitration will take place in California, USA, or remotely if mutually agreed.
- Each party shall bear its own arbitration costs unless otherwise determined by the arbitrator.
9.2 Waiver of Class Actions
You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration proceedings.
9.3 Pre-Arbitration Resolution
You agree to contact LitCode support first to attempt to resolve any disputes informally before initiating arbitration.
10. Third-Party Services
LitCode integrates with the following third-party providers:
- OpenAI API – AI solution generation.
- Claude API – AI solution generation.
- AWS – Secure cloud storage.
- Amazon Textract – Screenshot data extraction.
- Google Authentication – Secure user login.
- Stripe – Payment processing.
By using LitCode, you also agree to the respective terms of these third-party providers.
LitCode is not responsible for disruptions or failures caused by these services.
11. Termination & Account Suspension
LitCode reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at its sole discretion, with or without notice.
Reasons for termination include:
- Violation of these Terms.
- Fraudulent activity or payment disputes.
- Excessive or abusive usage violating fair usage policies.
12. Miscellaneous
- Minimum Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old (or have verified parental consent if under 18).

13. Updates to These Terms
- We may update these Terms from time to time.
- Substantial changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
- Continued use of the Service after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
